Ultratech, Inc. was founded in 1995  by its owner, Ken Dahm.   Ken opened Ultratech’s doors in a small shop in Bensenville, Illinois with a small crew of 2 or 3 employees.   Ken founded Ultratech with a vision to provide its customers a reliable, competitively priced fabrication service.  Ultratech has continued to grow in size and service each year.   We continue to grow and expand our work force, and to develop new systems.   We moved into our ultra-modern 43,000 square foot facility in the spring of 2001 and added more equipment.   Ultratech is a soft tool short run production and prototype facility.   We handle many low to medium volume production orders for our broad customer base.

The telecommunications, electronics, and computer industries are just some of the areas that we service. We have also been able to provide value added services for our customers by adding fans, wire harnesses, switches, and other components at our facility to aid our customers in making their process more efficient.

We also provide riveting and mig and tig welding services and we work closely with our outside vendors like plating and painting to assure quality final product to our customers.

Ultratech’s Shipping and Customer Service departments are committed to on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Their efforts to provide our customers on time delivery and customer satisfaction are supported by our Production, Engineering, and Quality team members. We will work with you to do our best to meet your needs. We track on time delivery for all our customers.

Our production equipment, CNCs, Lasers, and Press Brakes are state of the art. Our two Bystronic 440 Watt BySpeed lasers with 5 x 10 shuttle tables allow us to stage the next sheets of material to be cut, all the while cutting on the first sheets without interruption. This allows continuous flow of material to the machines with no down time, increasing efficiency. These lasers can cut up to 1.0 inch material and can cut steel, aluminum, plastic and more. The cutting speeds are incredible! (see video).

Our CNC turret press department is well equipped to meet your needs with two Amada Vipros 255 turret presses and two Amada Vipros 358 King turret presses. One of the 358 King turrets is equipped with an auto feeder for increased efficiency. All these machines have brush tables to reduce scratching. We are able to handle both large and small parts with this equipment.  The tools for these machines are well maintained using our Amada punch and die grinder and our 6’x 20’ three axis automatic surface grinder.

We have the option of shearing our own material using our Amada shear with10 foot bed with .250 inch thick cutting capacity.   We also have the capability to finish your parts before forming using our SteelMaster wide belt wet finishing machines to give you a quality look to your finished part.

Our forming department parallels our CNC and laser departments. For smaller jobs we have 4 Amada RG35 4 ft Press Brakes and for larger jobs there are 6 Amada RG50 6 ft press brakes available. For even larger parts we have our state of the art Amada FBD3 10 ft press brake this machine is fully programmable on the floor or offline in our engineering department.

Hardware is installed using one of our seven PEMSERTER SERIES 2000 machines with automated bowl feeders that continuously feeds hardware to the machines. These hardware inserters also have counters and alarms that let the operator know when the proper amount of hardware has been inserted. These two features increase the efficiency of our hardware insertion and reduce errors.

Our quality equipment parallels the standards of our production equipment. For example our state of the art Fabrivision allows us to scan parts in the flat and compare them to the flat layout, verifying that all features are present and in the proper location. Flat blank layouts are made from customer’s electronic files and are compared to customer drawings.

Utratech’s Quality systems have been developed to ISO standards.

Our team's commitment to quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction has been recognized by our customers.

We use our strong engineering team and experienced shop floor employees to find new efficiencies, keeping our customers' costs down, even as commodity prices increase. This makes us a very valuable partner for the long run.
